Union Cabinet approved a proposal to set up National
Recruitment Agency that will conduct Common
Eligibility Test.
• The proposal for National Recruitment Agency was first
introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the
Union Budget 2020.
• The government sanctioned ₹1,517.57 crore for NRA.
All you need to know about Common Eligibility Test
1) Will conduct entrance test for SSC, IBPS & RRB.
2) Group-B (non-gazetted), Group-C (non-technical) and clerical
posts
3) Separate CET levels of graduate, higher secondary (12th pass) and
the matriculate (10th pass) candidates.
4) Final selection by the respective recruitment agencies.
5) The score of CET will be valid for three years.
6) Around 2.5-3 crore aspirants sit for each of these examinations for
government jobs or banking jobs every year.
7) Common Curriculum & Standard.
8) Registering on a common portal and give a choice of centres.
9) The CET would be available in a number of languages.
10) No different applications for different jobs. No cost of traveling.

examinations
